max stream limit after 25 minutes?

Last night I was watching a movie on the ol' Shield and after about 25min Emby popped up a message about exceeding streaming limit.  I'm the only user and only that device was being used.  I started the video again and about 20min later I got the same error again.  I think two shows were being recorded at the same time via the DVR.  I had the Network -> max streams limit =1.  (I forgot I recently changed it from unlimited.)

I suspect the streams limit is the cause, but two questions:

1) I had only one stream (the video I was watching), so why the error?

2) Why the error only after ~20 minute intervals?

Would a server log help explain?

Hi.  Exactly what did the message say and what did it look like?  And, yes, a server log from when this  happens would be helpful.

When, in that log, did the problem occur?

The streaming limit is only checked at playback start so were you starting something new?

I bet another user logged in and starting streaming something and since the limit was set to 1 only 1 stream is allowed on the server.

That would have produced the error for the other user.

One scenario I can imagine would be some sort of playback error causing the app to re-try, which then could produce this situation if the max stream limit was only 1 on the server.

As said, it happened after ~20min, twice.  No other user was connected (unless you consider the DVR a user).

Best I can tell, it looks like the first time it happened was at 2021-07-04 19:13:37.691.

If you raise the limit to 2 does the problem go away?

I've set it back to unlimited and haven't used it since.  I'll let you know if it pops up again and maybe get a screenshot.
