Carlo 4561 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Hi, why are you using a fake IMDB number? That sounds like a recipe for problems.

The show I have are not listed on IMDB, I need to keep the watched status when moving the files and one of the things I was told to create all of the xml file with fake imdb. Once i created the fake imdb for all of the files and when I move the files it kept the watched statues.

lalajee 2 Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 This is what i'm trying to do. I have an TV show called "Show 1" inside that TV show I have 4 season, each season has 10 episodes When I watched the Season 2 episode 10. It marks it as watched and Even if I move the show (without changing the show ID) it still remembers it as watched episode But When I move that episode to another TV show called "Show 2 (show 2 has different IMDB ID)" it marks it as not watched. Even the episode has same ID as "Show 1" I never change the IMDB id on any of the episodes
Carlo 4561 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 (edited) IMDB has nothing to do with this. Emby Server will essentially use the showname/season/episode for watched status so when you move an episode to a different show it's now [sic] a different Episode to Emby. But episode has Unique ID, I though it follow the id not what show or movies set the file belongs to.
Luke 42085 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Check the tvdb id's before and after and ensure that they are consistent.

There are not tvdb IDs and he's moving an episode between "shows". As Cayars pointed out, for TV the watched status is kept based on show/season/episode so, if you move a file from one show to another it is now a different episode because it is now a different show. 1

I was hoping it might have been possible to follow ID not the tv show/season
