Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 (edited) I would say yes and @Luke or @ebrwill have to update the web page to just reflect DSM 7. Might even need to label both as I would guess there might be devices limited to DSM 6. Edited July 3, 2021 by Happy2Play
Carlo 4561 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Agree @Happy2Play We need the two entries now to say: Synology (DSM 6) Synology (DSM 7)
ng4ever 40 Posted July 3, 2021 Author Posted July 3, 2021 So there are two different versions ok. Thanks.
Carlo 4561 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Actually there are these versions: 64 bit NAS 32-bit (x86) ARMv8 2 versons for ARMv7 ARMv5 PPC Each of the above are built for DSM 6 and DSM 7 which are different. So the amount of builds just for Synology is pretty high.

ng4ever 40 Posted July 3, 2021 Author Posted July 3, 2021 Ok to my last question now is Emby for DSM 7 still beta ? or not really ?
Carlo 4561 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 No they are different. Basically you need to know what version of DSM your NAS is running. When logged into DSM you get get 2 pieces of info needed here: So in this example the NAS is the DS920+ and my DSM version is 7. Next go to https://emby.media/download.html Pick between the two Synology pages based on running DSM 6 or 7 Now you have two sections. The top is the release set and the bottom is beta. So if I want the release version for the 920+ I would choose the top section 64-bit NAS since this NAS uses a 64 bit Intel Proc. This is the section that can be confusing so if you don't know if you NAS is an ARM (which version), 32 or 64 bit, just ask and someone will help.
Carlo 4561 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 DSM 7 was released 6/29 so it's the new official DSM.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 3, 2021 Author Posted July 3, 2021 So basically for official new final DSM 7 I use the Synology (DSM 7 Beta) version right ? Just making sure sorry.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Just now, ng4ever said: Ok to my last question now is Emby for DSM 7 still beta ? or not really ? It was only beta because DSM was labeled beta. So if DSM is Final then Emby's label will have to change. But there is nothing beta about Emby it was beta per Synology DSM. 1
westhill 5 Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Running Emby server v.4.6.2.0 on my Synology 920+ and Emby is suggesting an I upgrade to 4.6.4.0. DSM (6.2.4.x) shows Emby as stopped and no updates available, but Emby is running fine on this NAS. Odd that DSM shows Emby as stopped when it is definitely running. No updates show in DSM for Emby and the package source is listed as packages.synocommunity.com Do I download from https://emby.media/synology-server.html, and download the 64-bit NAS build? Emby server suggested following the link above and shutting down the server. Once Emby is shut down do I perform a manual install in DSM by uploading the 4.6.4.0 spk package?
Luke 42078 Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 On the website it is no longer listed as beta, so you need to use the correct one for your DSM version: https://emby.media/download 1
