Dreakon13 143 Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) Hi, I updated to DSM7 for my Synology NAS this morning, probably unrelated but figure I'll be upfront, and decided I'd just do a totally fresh install and save any headache since I really didn't have too much to carry over besides my media. I'm on 4.6.3.0. I set up my Movie library and forgot to disable auto-generating collections... and it came back with a ton of collections. I deleted them all but the collections library is still showing on my Home screen. So I figured I would delete the whole Collections library since its empty anyways, and it's not letting me... Tried rescanning the libraries, tried restarting the server. To clarify, there's nothing in the Collections library anymore (despite those thumbnails): It's not a huge deal since I probably will add some Collections of my own making down the road... but I think I could delete it before and seemed like unusual behavior to report. Appreciate any insights. Edited June 29, 2021 by Dreakon13
rodainas 191 Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Go to your home screen settings and disable Display on home screen for collections 2

So you would have to manually delete each collection to ensure item metadata no longer has the <set> tags then there is a work around to remove the auto generated virtual Collection folder.

Hi, I wasn't able to delete the Collections library but I'm under the impression that is normal based on the replies. Since I've made a few collections of my own, it's not necessary to delete it. Was more of a curiosity thing since I believed I was able to before. Thank you for following up though.
Luke 42080 Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 We'll look at improving this. Thanks for the feedback.
marcustaz 0 Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 I accidentally created the collections Library this evening August 21 2022 and for the life of me I cannot delete it. Luke has this been addressed? I just spent the last 45 minutes racking my brain until I finally gave in and started searching Google...

Assuming you have no collections you would have to do a hack changing the library to mixed content which will allow you to delete it. Otherwise all you can do is hide the library per user on Home Screen settings. 1
