TV Episodes sorting by oldest first since a few months ago

A few months ago, I notices that the "Next Up" were no longer the latest recording. the sort order flipped from newest to oldest over to oldest to newest. I did not do anything to change this or at least not intentionally. i run the server on a Dell OptiPlex desktop that I do dot use for any other purpose (I don't even have a monitor connected to it). I am on version 4.6.3.0 on Windows 10. I see the same issue on Roku app, the web browser app and the Nvidia Shield.

How to fix this sort. Also, if it cannot be fixed until next release then how can I limit the number of recordings so I don't have to dig very far to get the news broadcast for the evening?

Hi there, what do you mean "from newest to oldest over to oldest to newest". Can you please go over a specific example? Thanks.

Technically they are sorted by most recently watched as my returning series appear last as they have not been watched since last season.

So you may need to go over specific examples.

This picture is after I have deleted the almost 200 episodes so I can get to the end. It used to show the newest recording on the left. This is from a browser.

I don't believe so as Next Up has always been oldest to newest ie just like season/episode numbers, lowest to highest.

But image is to same to know what it is showing.

Well, I have been using Emby daily for about 4 years and I would have noticed this long before now, don't you think?

I know it has never been that way for any of my series as they are sequential by air date oldest to newest exactly the same as S01E01-100.

Perhaps there is a difference with news broadcasts. That's what I use Emby for. I record the morning news, the evening news and weekend news from several different channels. I used to be able to click the "Latest Mixed Content" and get the most recently recorded news broadcast. Recently, I realized I was watching old news. Since they don't limit how many are recorded, I then had to manually scrolled through about a years worth of recordings to get the the end for the newest recording. That's the facts.

"Latest Mixed Content"

Okay yes there was a change to Group all episodes into Series via a Mixed content type library as many did no like seeing dozens of episodes in the the Latest row.  So now they are grouped into one item.

But from the Series level Next Up I do not believe this has changes at all as it has always been sequential.

I liked the old, for what it's worth.

I found where to limit the number of episodes to keep and now adjusted that to "one" - that'll do the trick.
