I have all library and subtitle settings set to English. This was never an issue until recent updates. Perhaps I'm missing something obvious?

Win10 server, latest version

Client is Nvidia Shield Pro, latest version from Play Store.

The app will default to the user's subtitle language preference.

Yes, I assumed it would use the server setting, turns out there's also a setting in the android client that got defaulted when I factory reset my Shield.

Thanks!

Exactly what setting was that?  Because it is reading the setting from the user profile from the server...

The subtitles setting, see attached pic. These were not set, I set to English a bit ago. This is in the Android TV client.

Okay, that is reading and adjusting the same setting you see on the server.  So that must've been reset at some point.

I just reset the Shield about 3 days ago, was annoyed by the new ad-laden launcher they pushed to AndroidTV devices. I guess I just assumed the Emby client would "inherit" settings like that from the server, but apparently not?

Anyhow, working now.

Hi there, how does the web app version compare?

I never use it, but I did just try it, and it appears that it took the settings from the server. Defaulted to English without any interaction from me besides having the server set that way.

It does.

That's because when you set it in the app, that set it on the server.  The two screens in the two apps are reading and editing the same value.

When I manually set it to English in the Android TV app, it had already been set to English in the server for months.

I didn't realize I even needed to set it in the Android settings because previously it was always set to English, whether by default or getting it from the server. Recently, it was defaulting to "Afar" on the Shield, and I didn't know why. Seems like  was either the server update or my recent factory restore on the Shield.
