jriker1 21 Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 I have folders of YouTube episodes broken down by the YouTuber. In each YouTuber folder there is a poster.png file to show as the "folder" to click on. When there is only one video left in the folder, the name of the YouTuber and poster.png go away and it just shows on the main screen the video and it's name not tied to the folder it's in. Is there any way to change that logic? So in the below are a bunch of YouTubers with more than one video in each folder, and two that only have one left so show the video and it's name not tied to anyone: Thanks. JR
Happy2Play 9785 Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 Pretty sure this fall under the library setting <CollapseSingleItemFolders>true</CollapseSingleItemFolders>. There is a server setting to allow the library setting to work and these are destructive library settings.
jriker1 21 Posted November 7, 2021 Author Posted November 7, 2021 Sorry for the delayed reply. For library it's considered Mixed Content Realtime monitoring is enabled Metadata reader NFO is checked Minimum automatic collection size is set to 2 Episode Image Fetcher checked Screen Grabber Movie Image Fetcher checked Screen Grabber Save art into media folders is checked Generate video preview thumbnails is set to Never So the odd part is there is a folder for a set of videos from YouTube, and when one video exists left in that folder it just shows a thumbnail from the video. Plus think maybe when you delete that video Emby deletes the whole folder physically.
Luke 42086 Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Hi there, how are your files named and organized?
jriker1 21 Posted November 7, 2021 Author Posted November 7, 2021 (edited) I have a folder called YouTubeShows which I point Emby to. Then in there is a list of YouTubers Folders: So note I had one there called The Tim Tracker and watched the last one a few minutes ago. When I deleted that file, the folder is gone. It will be recreated the next time my downloader finds a new upload from them and stick the video in it. The actual video filenames are whatever they are from the site and I drop in a nfo file as well as part of the download. So for example for AllEars.net: Never really expecting Emby to do anything with it though it creates a poster file for each. There is a thumbnail stored in the MKV. Note here is what the "group" looks like at least from the Emby Website: Now if I go into one of those folders and delete all but one video and the original Poster file: I I guess you can say that folder goes away in the interface, the poster file isn't used, and it switches to just the video and a thumbnail from the video: Edited November 7, 2021 by jriker1
Luke 42086 Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Hi, this is due to a quirk with Emby folder browsing where folders that have only a single video get replaced by the video itself, so what you're looking at is the image for the video and not the folder. This is something that we may be changing in future updates.
