  • Install any file explorer/manager app on your Shield
  • copy the apk to a thumb drive
  • stick drive in Shield
  • From Shield use file explorer to navigate to the apk on thumb drive
  • Click/Install

Or use a network share instead of thumb drive which is how I do it.  Either way works fine.

The last time I sideloaded an app, it was inaccessible in my apps menu and I have not to this day figured out how to open it, so...disinclined to go that route.

However, I searched for Emby on the play store and it gave me an update option, so I'm now on 2.0.30, which is at least closer.

If you sideload the app it will replace your current Emby app so there should be no looking around for it.

The apps all show the same way regardless of how they were loaded (store or sideload).

I remember someone saying that sideloading was so easy that even @crusher11 could do it, that folk was wrong. 😀

The double % thing is a sticky issue but I think I've worked around it.  Thanks.

Fixed in 2.0.32. Thanks!
