AMShearingaid 1 Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I have recently migrated from Linux to windows 10. I used the server backup to move to new system. All user moved ok, however the Emby connect email addresses did not get backed up at all. I am also having issues using Emby connect for myself. When I use it, and try to log into my server from my iPhone app, it just gives me the login options over and over again. additionally, is there a way to email an invite to people to join my Emby like Plex does?

This is not currently supported with the backup plug-in because those links are not a part of your server (they are in an external system). So you do need to re-create them in the new installation.
AMShearingaid 1 Posted June 27, 2021 Author Posted June 27, 2021 I have to type in the email address into each user account. why can’t the backup store that info. it does not seem like a big request to have that info stored.
Carlo 4560 Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I too would think all info of a user should be backup up including the EC name.

I understand but it isn't as simple as that. What you see is only a small part of what actually creates that linkage - and most of it is not on your server so backing it up and restoring it is a lot more complicated than just storing an email address. It just isn't a process the plug-in handles right now.
AMShearingaid 1 Posted June 28, 2021 Author Posted June 28, 2021 If I may make a suggestion, since I had typed in the email address in order to make the connection, all I am proposing is that the backup include the email address typed in. Nothing more, Nothing Less. This way , when a restore is done, the email address is also restored and a connection is remade to that user account. If that is too much, then maybe a basic notes section in that user account that can be backed up which I could type the email address into for when I need it again.
Carlo 4560 Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 At least having the email address present would allow you to cut, save, paste, save to reactive it. Otherwise you might not know the person's email or EC username.
Luke 42077 Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 It's something we can look at improving in future updates. Thanks for the feedback.
