Server freezes when adding to collection

When attempting to browse collections, or when clicking "Add to Collection", the collections start to load until about "C" alphabetically, then stop loading.  The connection to server is lost and only a reboot brings it back up.

I am using the Web App on the actual Windows server.

Hi, that's odd. Curious, if you browse the list of collections using the metadata manager where there are no images, does this also happen there?

Yes, through Metadata Manager, the complete list of collections is displayed and can be edited with no effect on server stability.  All collections can also be seen under the other libraries, and play fine.  Only when attempting to add to a collection, or view from the collections library.

@playloud Roughly how many collections do you have?

Is you log above directly after bringing up your collections?

It's something to do with the auto-generated images. That's why the problem does not occur in places where the images are not displayed.

Since the server disconnects after trying to view the collection, I restarted the server and downloaded the log.

More info:

I am able to create a NEW collection, but not add to it, nor any others.

Strangely, I watched a movie last night that was in a collection.  This morning the movie is marked watched, and is no longer in the collection.  It exists in the movies library, but out of the collection.

Can we see the server log?

The attached server log was right after rebooting the server, due to to it freezing while trying to view collections tab.

Do you have the log right before this one?

Unless you have a reason to have debug logging on I'd turn it off.  It's useful for brief points in code testing but "litters" the log with lots of info that can make it hard to read.

Could you turn that option off and generate new logs?

This still has debug log turned on.

Logs menu, first option, turn off.

Better logging this time!

I'm not sure how useful the logs are going to be for this as it might not log the issue.  I didn't see anything unfortunately.

Would we be able to setup a remote session where I can login with you via desktop sharing and try to help you with this?

We can try that, if you think it will help.  Most evenings after 9pm Central Time.

I am also not opposed to dumping all collection data, and rebuilding, but I don't know where those files are located.

Are these collections built by Emby or are they custom collections?

If built by Emby try deleting them right from the user interface. You can try multi-selecting several at a time then deleting them.  However it's likely this might also crash you server but it will narrow down the problem the more collections you can remove!

All collections created manually by me, I have never used the auto box sets.

I just tried deleting a collection from the interface; it was not deleted and the server crashed.

Can you provide the log file so we can see what was logged?

Do you have the logs before the freeze?  Those would be the ones to investigate.

It looks like the last thing it was doing was updating images.

I noticed you have CoverArt installed.  As a test, could you try uninstalling CoverArt plugin and see if the problem still exists or not?
