terster 1 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Hi. I'm having an issue getting ALL my TV Shows to display. Nearly 60% of my TV Show folders, show as empty/no content in Emby, and 40% show perfectly in their respective folders when viewing from anywhere, examples from my Roku, Phone, Web, etc. . All shows are in the same format, same naming convention, same file tree (and on the same hard drive). I have added LIBRARIES as both: TV SHOWS and MIXED CONTENT to see if it would make a difference and it does not. Example structure: H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\(TV SHOW NAME)\Season 01\(Episode Number) Examples: (H just happened to be the Drive where the files are stored as TV shows are on their own hard drive) H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Andromeda\Season 01\S01E01.MP4 H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Andromeda\Season 01\S01E02.MP4 <-- etc. H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Andromeda\Season 02\S02E01.MP4 H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Andromeda\Season 02\S02E02.MP4 <-- etc. all the way through Season 10... and they all show perfectly... But then i get to: H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Star Trek\Season 01\S01E01.MP4 H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Star Trek\Season 01\S01E02.MP4 <-- etc. H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Star Trek\Season 01\S02E01.MP4 H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Star Trek\Season 01\S02E02.MP4 <-- etc. H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Star Trek\Season 01\S03E01.MP4 H\TV_and_Related\Broadcast TV Shows\Star Trek\Season 01\S03E02.MP4 <-- etc. And all you see in Emby is simply: Start Trek The folder appears empty/no content I followed this Document for naming conventions: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159319 And as mentioned... 40% of all my TV Shows and their respective Seasons and Episodes all appear normally yet the other now nearly 60% show as a blank folder and/or no content. I have tried creating new libraries, pointing to this set of folders and again, setting one as TV SHOWS and the other as MIXED CONTENT and that has not helped. I have tried creating other profiles and that too has not helped. I have tried refreshing metadata and and rescanned for files countless times, all of which have not helped. I usually go with DEFAULT selections for the different databases such as movies.db, etc.. and i've tried selecting every option as i created these libraries. Nothing has helped. I am using the EMBY BETA. I really only realized after the fact, that i can't go back after going Beta and i didn't want to uninstall Emby and redo it all as i have many, many hours setting everything up, profiles, filters, age restrictions due to the kids, etc. Any thoughts on what i can try? is there anything else i need to post here and if so... can you guide me on how to find what it is you need me to upload/post? I know enough to create profiles and and how to set what can be seen in each... but i'm hardly experienced. I am amateur at best. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! T PS... i don't have this issue with movies that i've acquired or music... just TV Shows
Happy2Play 9785 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Really hard to say can you post a server log showing a Library scan. But TV logic is different then other content type as the tries to interpret Series/Season/Episode. If somethings work and other don't from the same drive there could be content on the drive blocking overall processing of everything on the drive or even corruption on specific drive. 16 minutes ago, terster said: I am using the EMBY BETA. Right now is a good time as they are relatively identical.
terster 1 Posted June 23, 2021 Author Posted June 23, 2021 is there a way to send a server/emby log privately so that it doesn't become public? i did scan my hard drive with different disk utilities and it's coming back clean, no errors. i did not though try moving some of the programs that won't appear correctly... to a new drive and then add it back into Emby as a new library. I can try that too and see... but it's a bit late tonight to do so. May have to be tomorrow or thursday. LMK though if there is a way to upload or send the file privately for review. and if you think that this is a good time to remove emby totally so that i can downgrade back to regular vs. beta... i suppose i could do that also and see if it corrects the issue. LMK your thoughts and thank you so much for your help. T

You can PM them and devs will be added to the conversation as needed. As for downgrading, it is just a matter of installing stable over beta. Nothing to uninstall/remove.
terster 1 Posted June 23, 2021 Author Posted June 23, 2021 Hi. I sent you the log file. I also downgraded to Emby Server 4.x.x.x which is the latest non-beta version. all is good, but problem persists. thanks again for the help. T
arrbee99 1817 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 I guess there's a typo in your second list ? You have S01, S02 and S03 all listed under Season 1.

Also you probably have trouble with ID for Star Trek as there are many series and without a year it's harder to "guess" which Start Trek this is. I would try to following the naming convention much closer to what's written for better matching.
Solution terster 1 Posted June 25, 2021 Author Solution Posted June 25, 2021 HI. I'm pleased to say that by deleting all libraries... renaming my root folders, and then adding back all the libraries... resolved my issue. Everything is now appearing as it should. I then redid all the users in order to get permissions and related set up and everything appears to be good. I really don't have this set up any differently than before other than i have a few less libraries. I did also delete my users and started over since that was only a few extra steps. Thanks all for the help. T 1
