What do tags do?

In Emby, what do the tags actually do?

• You can't search by tags.
• You can't sort by tags.
• Tags aren't a header.

Is this something that was added to Emby by has yet to be fully implemented?

@Lighthammer Why can't you do all of those, the options are there?  Okay not sort but you can filter by tags.  But yes there are only Tags header in Movies.

Hi.  You can also search for tags.

You can use them to control user access (on the "Parental Controls" tab of the user setup).

They're also very useful for logically grouping similar content for Suggestions

Hmm, Ok, so they only really work in Movies right now?

I was tinkering with them in TV Shows and haven't found them to do anything there. I had largely assumed the same was true across the board.

You can filter the TV show display using tags, as well as using them to control access; both useful functions, I'd say.

Great for Live TV as well to group your TV Channels.
