Lighthammer 91 Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 (edited) I don't know if this has been here forever or not, but I've noticed a potentially messy bug that should be an ultra easy fix. When viewing Series Metadata (on enUS, at least), Studio is used for Network. Additionally, an actual Studio field would be nice. I'm unsure if it maps to the various metadata sites though. Luke 42080 Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 Hi, it's not a bug. We use using the field called Studios to hold a list of Networks for TV series. Now you can certainly argue if it should be that way, or if there should be two separate fields, but that is the current design. Also I think i recall you opening a topic about this in years past already.
speechles 2055 Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 (edited) It has been this way since at least 2013. When the Blue Neon Night application on Roku started to delve into it. The display can know if this is Series, Seasons or Episodes and call it "Networks" during display to a user for those items. If this is Movies or Music call it "Studios". But the data itself is always under item.studios in an array and under the single field name "studios". Changing this will break many legacy apps written. It is not a bug it is a feature. I love the feature. @Luke Perhaps when viewing "Metadata Editor" on Series, Seasons, or Episodes the "Studios" should be aliased to "Networks" to avoid confusion. It is a display after all. On other library areas of the app related to TV it does alias to "Networks". It is just the Metadata Editor not doing the aliasing. The data can safely be kept single field under studios.
