clarkss12 304 Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 Added a new camera to my Emby camera recordings. Using my Android TV OS devices, it will not play, a circle goes around and around. It will play on that device using VLC. It also play using Emby Theater and in the Chrome browser in Windows. I think, and only guessing, that it has to do with the audio codec. Here are the logs...... I have not tested on any other Android devices. embyserver.txt embyserver-63759733871.txt ffmpeg-remux-cb0d89b5-aeb4-4f63-8510-254d03b59d24_1.txt hardware_detection-63759733910.txt
clarkss12 304 Posted June 20, 2021 Author Posted June 20, 2021 Edit: I change the camera audio settings to PCM, solved the issue. However, why could it not play the weird default audio camera codec? Because the Android device did not support that weird codec, and if so, why did it NOT transcode that audio codec? Ain't no big deal, since I just changed the codec in the camera settings. Just through me for a loop for awhile.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 Even though the log says remux the audio was converted. So there has to be a bigger factor. But devs would have to comment more. 21:12:33.435 Stream mapping: 21:12:33.435 Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (copy) 21:12:33.435 Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (pcm_mulaw (native) -> aac (native))
ebr 16184 Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 A log from the app when this happens may show what is hanging up.
clarkss12 304 Posted June 20, 2021 Author Posted June 20, 2021 (edited) Since I changed the audio codec of the camera recording, the issue is gone. Is it still worth the effort to find the cause? Edited June 20, 2021 by clarkss12

Luke 42078 Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 Can you provide a sample video for testing? thanks.

I changed the camera audio settings, so that audio format is no longer being used. All those old recorded clips have been purged....... I could probably create another clip if so desired.
