Guest Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Ok, I keep getting moaned at my my daughter cos the Harry potter Audiobooks I have do not auto play the next chapter/file when one has finished, she likes to put it on shuffle and when it gets to the end of the chapter it will just sit there not knowing what to do. I have downloaded 3 different versions all with same results (so not a issue with the files) and I have tested on Both her Xbox and my PC with the same issue, if we play them in Plex they will work perfectly fine and move on to the next file without issue.
Luke 42079 Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 Hi, I think it's because you only have one audio file in your play queue, right?

Nope, it's multiple files that are on shuffle, it will get to the end of the file then just stop instead of moving onto the next one in the shuffle. If she fast forwards the file it will work but if left to run through the whole file normal it won't move on to the next one once finished
Luke 42079 Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Hi @morpheus2n2 have you updated to Emby Server 4.6.3?
Princessmoo 0 Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Yep, will get her to test it tonight and post back

Guest Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Sorry for the late reply, with the latest build it still doesn't work, the screenshots I have attached don't fully show the problem, on the Xbox (Client) it ways there's 1.22 mins left but it has actually stopped playing and doesn't move at all or even start the next chapter. On the server it will get to 1.22mons from the end then keep skipping back 10seconds and counting up then skip back over and over in a loop, this to is not playing at all. I have also attached a log fine (sorry debug was off when she was listening) The screen shots are from about 4:15am to 4:20am. embyserver.txt
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Is this behavior only on the XBox? Don't know XBox client but what screen are you playing from? If you are playing from Folder view the queue will not be created when starting a chapter. Sure shuffle does create a queue in web client and ET.

Far as I know the Xbox uses basically windows version of Emby theatre, and she just go into the Author and hits shuffle, all the files play perfectly fine this way on Plex with no issues its just Emby, and we are trying to move from Plex but things like this keep us held back pmsl

But I guess it shouldn't matter as Shuffle should be creating a queue. But I can not reproduce on PC/web client or desktop/app store ET as you mentioned. Edited July 12, 2021 by Happy2Play

Yeah when she puts it on shuffle you it makes a play queue, but just get stuck close to the end of a track, you can manual hit next and it will play the next chapter but she tends to put it on to go to bed to so having it move auto is what we are having issues with lol Want me to share the files to see if its them that's the issue?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Per your server log there would appear to be other issues at play also as your media can not be probed but didn't see anything about the audio book though. lots of "streams and format are both null" @Luke System.Exception: System.Exception: ffprobe failed for file:"\\Slayer\Films\Films\Memoirs of a Geisha (2005)\Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) Bluray-1080p.mp4" - streams and format are both null: 1 minute ago, morpheus2n2 said: Want me to share the files to see if its them that's the issue? Not yet as a dev may need to comment on a bigger issue with your media probing. Not exactly sure but may be a path or permissions issue.

Oh I know what that is so Im not worried about it I had a failure with my Films storage a few months back and a nice number of films have become corrupted, so that will just be one of them, I have been going through them slowly and replacing etc but given how many i have its very time consuming lol
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Okay, is this only a issue with Shuffle? If you go to a book and hit play does the next chapter play? 18 hours ago, morpheus2n2 said: Sorry for the late reply, with the latest build it still doesn't work, the screenshots I have attached don't fully show the problem, on the Xbox (Client) it ways there's 1.22 mins left but it has actually stopped playing and doesn't move at all or even start the next chapter. But this actually sounds like possible corrupted files also. 18 minutes ago, morpheus2n2 said: Want me to share the files to see if its them that's the issue? If this is reproducible on a book, yes if you don't mind.

No, happens no matter if you shuffle or try to play a book in order 27 minutes ago, Happy2Play said: But this actually sounds like possible corrupted files also. Which is odd cos if she uses shuffle on the same series in Plex they all play fine and move to the next one with no issues lol 27 minutes ago, Happy2Play said: If this is reproducible on a book, yes if you don't mind. Uploading to Gdrive now will pm you a link once uploaded
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 There is something wonky with the files as they are extending passed 0, but go to the next chapter for me when I select Shuffle. Only grabbed the first book but all the tracks I tested were extended past 0. Tested in 4.6.4.0 and 4.7.0.3 web client. Don't see this behavior on my books.
Guest Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Interesting, if it help she says that it will skip if she has fast forwarded through a chapter but if left to play out in full it wornt skip, so would that be somthing to do with the extended passed 0? Also what is extended passed 0?

And this view shows similar time exceeds track duration 1

And this view shows similar time exceeds track duration Ahh got it yeah thats what her Xbox was doing but when I looked at the Dashboard page from My account it would show that it was skipping back 10 seconds each time it hit a particular mark, witch would make sense if the files are funky cos it has no clue what to do with it, and cos they worked in Plex I thought nothing of it so it could just be when plex gets to the same point and it starts to be wired it just skips the track instead of keep trying to play what's not there it hence it looking like it works. You have been a great help thank you so much
Guest Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 @Happy2Play Ok shes been listening to them for last 3 hours and they work so it seems the files I had sourced where busted, thank you so much for all the help I have one happy little Girl now
