Original GameBrowser III questions

I would like to weigh in a little on this "Saves" topic. I haven't had much time to configure my emulators and such since moving from MB2 to MB3 but from what little testing I did do i sorta figured it would be possible to load the save from client to client. The issue I am seeing here which I think you guys have not come across yet is I believe you are running these games under one user? For example what would happen if two users decide to play the same ROM from say SNES9X and they both decide to save the game from two different clients? I imagine one user would overwrite the quicksave/save of the other player. I believe there needs to be a feature at some point for managing saves for multiple users which would be the case in my home.

In that scenario yes the user would use the same save game and overwrite it. Save states are different as like is mentioned above most emulators have a number of 'slots' which different users could save too. I think this will also mainly be an issue for older games as more modern stuff such as PS1, PS2, Wii etc usually let you have multiple save games/users internally anyway and its possible to use different memory cards in epsxe and pcxs2.

You make a good point though that a feature in gamebrowser for managing different players and saves would be useful, especially for the older systems.

Home cloud based gaming with emus and roms stored on server? That's what I'm running, although have had the "missing roms" issue with a couple of systems in the teething phase. I run mame, atari2600, Amiga, snes, nes, ps1, ps2, megadrive/genesis, n64, wii. They all run with the emus and roms (seperate shared drives) from the server on a gbit network... Just make sure the emus are set up on a mapped drive, and point the mbclassic plugin / mbt external players to the emus. Works on mb3 and mbt like a charm.

This is on a Windows Home Server 2011 headless server to two different PCs. Even the Wii is running at 60fps solid over the network, and looking good on the HTPC TV.

Only little thing that I had to adjust was the intranet settings on each client PC so they could run the server-based emulator .exe files without a pesky security alert popping up each time - it kind of took the edge off of the 6 foot UI factor with them in place!

New to MB3/MBT and gamebrowser after finally taking the plunge in the last month, but happy to point anyone in the right direction if needed.

Im not sure what step im missing, but im not getting any systems populated from gamebrowser.

All my roms show up in all clients, but nothing with regards to systems.

I have configured systems in gamebrowser setup on the server.

I can take a picture if it would help but it looks very similar to this guide setup. I dont know why i dont see anything under systems in any client.

Nevermind missed a step in the guide, for media library entry i pointed them to each game system folder instead of just the parent "game" folder. Now it works.

I have gamebrowser working pretty good in mbt, one issue i am curious about, closing dolphin does not close the emulator. I remember in xbmc you had to send a /b command would something like that be possible with mbt? Its about my only big stopping point right now is i always have to grab a keyboard to close it.

I think it had a game parameter entry where i had /b and /e entered, can i do this with mbt somhow?

Edit actually just added /b after the path worked fine.

Just curious if anyone knows how to close epsxe, i have close on stop check marked but it seems to running. It closes but i can hear music and see in windows processes its still going.
