deallier 8 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Hi i am getting the same problems and i never stop emby or the computer server it just locks it self for no reason never had this problem before the update.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Yes there is a issue Luke has potentially identified but is not in stable release yet so all you can do is shutdown Emby, delete the shm and wal file when you get this database lock.
Carlo 4561 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 You could also update to the beta version 4.7.0.3 which has what we think has the fix in it. You could then revert back to 4.6.4 when available if you don't want to stay on the beta.

Thanks. Finally worked after rebooting the server a couple times. Stoping the container, deleting those files and restarting did not solve the issue

Edrock200 53 Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 Isn't the WAL file a "change log" or sorts? If so, does deleting it have any adverse effects? Would it be better to stop emby, do sqlite3 /path/to/library.db then CTRL-D so it consolidates and removes the shm and wal files into the DB?
Carlo 4561 Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 No, just do exactly as the articles suggests are you don't want to try and apply these changes.

In theory opening the db in sqlite after Emby failed to close it properly should fail also but am not a db guy. 1
flatline69 27 Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Just ran into this issue. Stopping EmbyServer and removing the SHM/WAL file seems to have worked for me. Running 4.6.4.0 Premiere in a docker container. 1
