Dreakon13 143 Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 (edited) Seems like every couple of days lately, the Emby app won't open. Tried closing and going back into the app, restarting my 4K Firestick, etc. The only way to get it going again is to uninstall the app and re-download and re-set it up/connect to my server. The two photos are what I see after clicking the Emby app on the Firestick home screen. One a black screen that doesn't seem to go anywhere (when this happens I need to uninstall and re-download)... and the other working normally with the Emby logo and the spinning loading thingy (after I re-install). Not sure what logs I could provide, as I can't get into the app to connect to my server or into the app to send any internal logs. Any insight is appreciated. Edited June 14, 2021 by Dreakon13
Carlo 4561 Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 (edited) Hi, Are you connecting to a remote Emby Server or is the server in the same LAN as the FireStick 4K? Edited June 14, 2021 by cayars

ebr 16182 Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Hi. Are you sure you need to uninstall? Have you tried force-closing it through the Android menus? Also can you confirm the version of the app? Thanks.

Try double clicking the home button, or go into the "Apps" menu under settings and find Emby and force close from there. Then, right after the problem has occurred and you force closed the app, restart the app and send a log from it. 1

eskimos20 0 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 I have a new Sony Bravia TV with google tv and the same goes for me. I have the newest server version running on Ubuntu. Both are on the local network. Other emby devices can connect to the server (example Apple TV, Android Phone) But the Google TV Sony cannot. The only thing that works is an uninstall of Emby on the Sony TV and reinstall. Then it connects right away. I had a Nvidia Shield Pro before and the same thing happened on that device. Should be something on the client side.
