tnowakow 0 Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Hi everyone, I just got a new mecool KT1 Android TV device (The one with AV1 hardware decoding) and have been testing the features. Currently I have Emby set up to open files with MX Player Pro (That is able to use hardware decoding for AV1 files). Is there a roadmap to use hardware for AV1 files with the normal Emby built in player? Would love to have this as seamless as possible for the wife/kids. Thank you!

tnowakow 0 Posted June 10, 2021 Author Posted June 10, 2021 (edited) Yeah, I just tested it again and it says: Streaming Info Video Resolution: 1920x1080 Video Codec: AV1 (direct) Audio Codec: OPUS Audio Channels: 7.1 Bitrate: 3.14Mbps Max bitrate setting: 80 Mb/s Transcode Speed: 7577.00 fps Transcode Reason: Unsupported video EDIT: I went into my user and unchecked this: "Allow video playback that requires conversion without re-encoding" and it's playing now! but for OPUS it says (software decode) so i'm guessing OPUS isn't hardware enabled?
