Server Update Failure Loop

Windows Info:  Ver 20H2 Build 19042.1502

Emby Server Version:  3.5.4.0 Loads as a service

I've been having intermittent problems with the server but haven't taken the time to research as a system restart usually got things going.....until a few days ago.  I have auto updates enabled but it's obviously been failing since the first version following 3.5.4.0.  Currently, whenever the server is restarted, it attempts to update to 4.6.2.0.  It is generating hundreds of log files that are identical and indicate it is "exiting to perform the update".  The files are being generated at the rate of 4 or 5 per minute  (sample attached).  Since June 5, over 11K files have been generated. While this is going on, overall machine response is very slow and the emby server is unusable via the web client.  The only way I have found to regain control is to manually delete the update files repeatedly until the process gives up.  Then the server runs OK as a 3.5.4.0.  Please let me know what other log files I can provide and any other info you need.

Thanks for the help.

Hi, please try shutting down Emby Server and then installing the update manually from our website on top of your existing version. Please see if that helps. Thanks.

That seemed to work.  It now says it is a 4.6.2.0 server BUT it stall has the prompt on the dashboard to restart the server to finish the update.  Thought I'd ask before doing that.

Thanks

Most likely plugins were updated.

Seems like we're good......took a LONG time to update the metadata!  We'll see what happens at the next update.  Thanks for your help.
