It's not that it has to be "Various Artists" - it can be any value you wish, but it just has to be the same for each track in the album.

Thanks so much for the reply.  I did find a program Jaikoz which allows me to take in a whole directory of albums and make a change in one swoop. I found a few others but they were not quite a good fit. I am in the process of cleaning thing up and have a good deal of success but have to sync with all my backup or I will have created a bigger problem down the road.  I have looked at JRiver and although it is a fine program I have difficulty handling my files from remote devices.  One of the things I really like about Emby is the client support for IOS (Android, IPad and Apple TV). I also like the fact I can install an Emby server on my laptop attach a drive and take my stuff with me. Your TV recording support and movie capabilities coupled with your audio support means I will be using Emby for a long time.  I have started using Roon and they are focused on the audio end and have greaat support for Classical and multi volume sets. I'm in the process of setting my data files up so that they can be used simultaneously by Roon and Emby. I think you have to be very interested in audio to pay the price of Roons learning curve but if it didn't exist Emby can cover most of the important  functions very well once I fix my tags mess.

 

You have a fine program and I have been recommending it to most of my friends as it is very capable and fairly easy to set up . Thanks again for the heads up I look forward to checking the new version out
