Vevo low video quality

I'm getting vero low video quality in the vevo channel. other channels have good quality. When i look at the transcode log I see that te video bitrate is set very low "-maxrate:v 2000 -bufsize:v (2000*2) -b:v 2000" other channels gets "-maxrate:v 5872000 -bufsize:v (5872000*2) -b:v 5872000" and it changes when i change video quality in the web player. The bitrate in vevo videos stays at 2000 no matter what i set in the web player.

 

There is also quite a lot of videos that doesn't work. Examples of vidoes in most viewed this week that don't work: Counting Stars, Royals, Wake me up.

@@snazy2000 perhaps the reported bitrates are incorrect. 2mpbs for example should be 2000000 not 2000

Its what vevo is returning :/ Ive removed it now and all seems good

no - specify it. you just have to convert from the scale they're using to what we're expecting.

Anyway, I'm pleased to report that not only do the videos that didn't work now work, but the video quality is top notch now.

 

And I'm not sure if it is a placebo effect, but they also seem to play much faster too - there used to be a big delay between pressing play and anything actually playing.

Speaking of Vevo, is there anyway to get their login access to use your Vevo playlists?

Video quality is great now. But have discovered another problem. Genres pages only shows you Most Viewed Today videos. Any genre both artists and videos shows the same page.
