Kevster1968 2 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Hi guys, I've got got emby installed on my unraid machine everything works great on the home network apart from when I'm out of it useing my mobile android phone...... I've tried port forwarding the 2 ports 8960 & 8920 on my sky q router and added firewall outbound rules for both ports as it won't seem to use upnp on the sky q router, all settings seem to be correct..... Any ideas folks.?
ginjaninja 605 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 (edited) I think the firewall rule would need to be an "inbound" rule Allow any source ip/port inbound to {public ip of emby server} on TCP 8096 Allow any source ip/port inbound to {public ip of emby server} on TCP 8920 or subject to router ui might look more simply like Port forward TCP 8096 to Emby Server Lan IP Port forward TCP 8092 to Emby Server Lan IP use http://publicip:8096 or https://publicip:8920 to access remotely mine looks like (i only use https) https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/How-to-set-up-port-forwarding/ba-p/2662260 need to ensure emby isnt configured to blacklist the source ip you are testing from and the os also isnt running a firewall also ensure the device you are testing on is "on the internet"....(eg disable wifi on mobile if testing at home) Edited June 5, 2021 by ginjaninja

Q-Droid 989 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 (edited) Do not enter any IP addresses in the Whitelist box for "Remote IP filter". There is a Connection Help button on the Server Dashboard. Have you read and tried what's in that article? It covers most things needed to get basic remote access working. Edited June 5, 2021 by Q-Droid 1
