Transcoding with subtitle help

I have an issue with DDVSUB Subtitles.  To my surprise I was able to select the DVDSUB subtitles without a transcode and everything played great on my Android phone.  I then forced a transcode and everything ground to a halt and hardware transcoding appeared not to work (terrible frame rates (around 20-30) but the dashboard indicated it was using VAAPI).  Only deselecting the subtitles before transcoding was I able to get a normal hardware transcode (around 80-100).  I also tried in a browser with the same results.  Thanks

Hi, burning in subtitles will consume significantly more resources on your server machine, so this is normal. It looks like your server just can't transcode it fast enough to be playable.
