DUG 3 Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Hi After a recent full library scan, a couple of my movie sub folders are now registering as TV series within the Movies Library. I use an old legacy file structure to simplify content sharing instead of a flat structure. it even identified the animation folder as a tv show or something and tagged movies as episodes I started removing the " - " from any movies names to avoid them being seen as versions, I haven't noticed any change yet. please help
Carlo 4561 Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Hi, if you want to do a remote session I can help you get this straightened out. If you would like instructions for resetting each library let me know and I can provide you that info as well. Send me a PM either way. Carlo
DUG 3 Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 Thanks for replying. If you could give me some instructions Ill be able to look at it when I find the time.
Carlo 4561 Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 I sent you a PM with directions how to fix library types. Let us know how this works or if you need additional help. Carlo

No I have a folder in my movie directory and it has the movie Open Season 3 in it. Emby saw it as Season 3 and made that whole folder think it was tv shows. It added tvseries.nfo files to every movie in the folder. Even though I delete all information and rescan everything it still sees this movie directory as mixed content. I want to force it to be only movies.
colchar 10 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I had a look at the instructions you sent through. The folder in question has the movie content type. <ContentType>movies</ContentType> in the options.xml file. But as you can see below the folder has movies and shows listed because of this issue
colchar 10 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I was able to fix this. There was a lot of information in that options.xml about tvshow configurations, fetcher info and so on. Once I removed all of that information the folder is back as it should be.
Daniel1966 6 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 I'm curious why you would share the solution privately, so that when others are searching the forums and have the same problem, they can't see the solution that worked for someone else.

This issue is rendering Emby unusable for my purposes. This thread is the only option that comes up that discusses the issue when you google it. Not sure what you are referring to as everything here comes back to a bug that changed library content type to Mixed Content. Since this is an old bug I doubt it applies to your issue. If you are having an issue can you be more specific or open your own topic with specific information about your issue. Edited February 18, 2024 by Happy2Play

This is a very specific problem because I have a large library of professional wrestling videos. It is a mixed library because some are single events and some are TV shows. They are organized into folders by company, sometimes with further folders to break up a large collection chronologically. The problem comes from the fact that some of the events have the word "Series" in the title. When Emby sees that, it makes it think the company folder is meant to be a TV show and the files within are meant to be episodes. I would love for it to not do this. EX: AJPW / AJPW YYYY-MM-DD Giant Series 1997 This turns the AJPW folder into a TV series. Is it possible to fix this or find a workaround?

With it being Mixed content, I don't believe there is without renaming as that is by date tv naming scheme. TV Naming | Emby Documentation

Can only go off the info provided as I don't use naming scheme only test. So will guess the parser is seeing it and thinking it is TV. There is no control over this as mixed content is a guessing game for the server to decide off of structure and naming.

Chances are we would end up with something different than what you’re actually doing.. If you’re able to spell it out and show an exact example of files and folders then we’ll be able to test it out ourselves.
