tortue 0 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 I'm having a strange issue with file conversions being copied to their destination after using the Convert feature within Emby. I have the below problem using the current 4.6.1 and previous version 4.5.4. Emmby Server on Ubuntu 20.04 Library is the Emby recordings library on a CIFS share (vers=3) mounted locally I have Emby recording shows with no issue. It can record, playback on various devices, and delete shows in the library. I decided to convert the transport streams I record (from the HDHomerun) into another format with more direct play support. For testing I chose the option to convert to "Original media folder, next to original files". The conversion occurs without any issue, and actually the transfer/sync occurs without any issue also, however the emberserver.txt log contains the attached error message about an 'Operation not permitted' and 'Access to the path is denied'. On the next sync/transfer task the converted file is copied again (with the (1) suffix added), I presume it treis again because the converted file is still in the converted/temporary folder since it did not confirm the copy completed successfuly during the prior transfer. This continues to occur, so I end up having numerous duplicated video files. A picture of the current file list is below. I've checked all the permissions, up and down the folder tree. The library is on a samba share mounted via fstab. I'm curious if there is a function call or something specific the transfer is trying to accomplish that is not allowed on cifs shares (or remote filesystems) or something else is going on, as the emby user has full (read/write/delete) access to the files and folders. I do have alternate data streams disabled on the file server, so maybe emby is attempting to check something there. I can watch each of the converted files with no issue through the emby interface, so the copies are intact and working. Any ideas? emby-log-entries.txt
tortue 0 Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 (edited) error.txtYeh the source/transcoded/converted intermediate file is located on a tmpfs filesystem mounted at /mnt/ramdisk. I also get the same error when using the default path under /var/lib/emby. The destination/library is a CIFS mounted share. Edited June 4, 2021 by tortue
tortue 0 Posted June 24, 2021 Author Posted June 24, 2021 @Luke, probably should've put the @notify in my above reply.
Luke 42079 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Hi @tortue, please see this for a possible solution: Thanks.
