jhyler 3 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 (edited) After having put in some time getting the genres set correctly on my music, the genre icons (collages of album covers) that Emby built are now wrong. How do I get them to rebuild? Thanks. Edited May 30, 2021 by jhyler
Happy2Play 9783 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Sorry you have to reapply all custom Genres. This will apply to \metadata\musicGenres to maintain your custom images.
Luke 42085 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Hi, with the 4.6 release this has been resolved, but you may have to customize them one more time first. Apologies for the disruption.
jhyler 3 Posted May 30, 2021 Author Posted May 30, 2021 (edited) I apologize for being dense, but I'm not sure what the above means. I have no musicGenres folder under my \metadata, What does it mean to "reapply" or "customize" genres? All I know is that my .mp3 files contain genre tags; to modify the genres assigned to an .mp3 file I update the tags with a .mp3 tag editor and then have Emby rescan the library. I've never directly uploaded/applied any artwork for genres; at some point in the past Emby or one of the built-in plugins created it by mashing up album images of albums containing files with a particular genre tag into collages. I am still on 4.5.4.0, btw. I have dragged my feet on upgrading out of concern for what might happen to my music library. Edited May 30, 2021 by jhyler
Luke 42085 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Ok then yes since you're on 4.5 this is a known issue with that release of custom genre images being replaced with the generated ones.
