kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 Since updating to 4.6.1, if I open a video and immediately back out within one or two seconds, the video is added to the Continue Watching list. This happens on both the new Continue Watching and legacy Next Up settings. Also, when I first opened Emby after updating the Continue Watching list contained over a dozen videos going back almost a year that I had started watching at one point and stopped before the "5% watched" limit. I suspect this is related to the same issue.
xdwarfx 15 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 I had the exact same problem. But because i was also experiencing other issues, i decided to do a fresh install of emby and rebuild all libraries. That fixed it for me but i can imagine you dont want to do this. I guess they will ask for some logs etc from you to find out the problem

kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 All my libraries are at the default 5 percent.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 If you go to one of these videos what is the resume time?
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 I started a video and let it run for 15 seconds, backed out, and started it again. It started at 0:00. I opened it again and let it run for 1:30, backed out, opened it again and it started at 0:00.

Or are you saying this action still causes Continue Watching? I know I can not reproduce this behavior. Do you have the Trakt plugin installed?
Carlo 4561 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 Could you show us a screen shot what your row looks like as well?
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 cayars: When I saw your image I realized that all the videos I have been having the problem with are TV episodes, not movies. (Because I've been mostly watching TV and not many movies lately.) The problem does not occur with movies, only with TV episodes. Happy2Play: Yes, the action still causes Continue Watching. I do not have the Trakt plugin installed.
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 Here is a what the episode looks like after viewing for 1:30. I don't know what you mean by "what your row looks like"... what row are you referring to?
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 I currently see two TV episodes that ran for less that five seconds, they were opened by the 'run next episode' setting; and one TV episode that I ran for 1:30.

That item does not have a resume point set - and it shouldn't based on what you told us. 1:30 is only about 3.5% of 44 minutes.
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 ebr: That's not the issue. The problem is that the episode shows up in Continue Watching when it does not have a resume point set.

kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 Here it is, do you believe me now? The first two were run for only a few seconds, the last for 1:30.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 (edited) And can you post your Home Screen setting. Honestly look like the current merged Continue Watching/Next Up. Edited May 29, 2021 by Happy2Play

kurtgschumacher 36 Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 It would have been easier to do that screenshot if you had said that was all you wanted. Please be more specific in the future to save us both time. And I had said earlier that the problem happens with either Continue Watching or Next Up.
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 29, 2021 Solution Posted May 29, 2021 Just now, kurtgschumacher said: It would have been easier to do that screenshot if you had said that was all you wanted. What you are seeing is expected behavior as Continue Watching and Next Up were merge, (multiple topics and blog) If you want them separate add back Next Up (Legacy) and that will clear your Continue Watching and only show items with resume points there. So from what you have provided everything is working as designed.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 But shouldn't it still need to be more than 5% to show up there? Otherwise the continue row will have a lot of junk in it.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 18 hours ago, kurtgschumacher said: This happens on both the new Continue Watching and legacy Next Up settings. So yes the New Up item will appear in the New merged Continue Watching, or those same items will appear in the Next Up row if you enabled Next Up (Legacy) clearing the Continue Watching row for Resume items only.
