mystic.bertie 23 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Hi Guys. I have a very large music collection and i decided to create another music library for another user, i then copied a handful of albums into that new library. Now those particular albums all the tracks appear twice, so there is 2 of every track. Even if i dont have access to that users library i still get 2 of every track, this happens in my main music library and in the other users library. If i delete the other library it then returns to normal. Does anyone have a solution to this?
pwhodges 2014 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 You could move the files you want for the second user into a different folder (removing them from your original folder), then change the settings of your library to include both folders. After that you can let the other user have access to the same library, but remove access to the specific folder with the main collection you don't want them to see (in the server's user settings you will see this option when there are multiple folders in a library). Do not be tempted to set up a second library and use the extra folder in both - adding the exact same files to multiple libraries is not supported and causes strange problems. Paul
Carlo 4561 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Hi, You can use folder based access with one library. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160108-folder-based-access-control
keinishi72 2 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 (edited) Hi, I have same problem. Old version Emby shown tracks correctry when set Library Access on User Settings correctly. But updated 4.6, Tracks appear twice same as mystic.bertie's issue. For example, Library A and Library B contains same album. User A's permission set to Library A : Accept, Library B : Deny. ↓ On Emby 4.5.4.0 : Show Album from User A, tracks appear once (works flawlessly.) On Emby 4.6.1.0 : Show Album from User A, tracks appear duplicated. There is currently no response to my post, but I'll link to the topic I posted. Edited May 28, 2021 by keinishi72

I hope there is a fix soon. The folder based sharing seems to work for now.
