My daughter likes to listen to audiobooks when she goes to bed but has been on at me all evening cos the every book/chapter seems to cut off early.

I know the files re fine as it all worked fine in Plex before I switch over.

She's uses the Emby theatre app on her Xbox as there dosn't seem to be a native app, and tips on how to better find out what's going on etc please

While Emby is a great product I gave up trying to use it for audiobooks some time ago. (I also do not use it for music for similar reasons.)

While there are some advantages to centralizing everything I have found that breaking audio functions out seems to make everything I view/listen to smoother and easier.

I have a small computer that runs MediaMonkey and I have attached several wireless keyboards (with built in mouse) around the house and the sound is piped to nearly every room. There are also support programs that make listen and controlling playback easy. I can highly recommend one called mmRemote that runs on my tablets and phones that allows almost full control of the computer controls for MediaMonkey. I also have an Alexa utility I use called ComputerControlAssistant that allows simple start and pause of playback by voice anywhere in my house.

My solution requires a little setup time and effort but it is well worth it. I have been using this method of audiobook playback for at least five years and, except for a few network issues, MediaMonkey has not even had one failure. In fact since I have my audio files stored on a drive attached to the MM computer even network problems do not effect playback. Of course some control pieces that require a network for functionality, like mmRemote and Alexa control do not function when the network is down but the attached keyboards do so I can control playback just fine when I have no network.

This has been a bit long but I believe that it is a good solution for audiobooks. Emby works but it tethers you to a device and it is a bit complex to listen everywhere.

BTW: I also use MediaMonkey for music and it is great for that as well.
MediaMonkey also has some video functionality but it is unsuited for movie libraries.
I "think" there is a MediaMonkey program for the X-Box but I do not know for sure.

Oh that's a bummer, no there's nothing on Xbox for MM so no easy solution for kids :(

Well, hopefully, one of the people that do use Emby for audiobooks will be along soon. :)

Hi. Saw you (I think) on Reddit. Apologies if things aren't going too well. Hopefully they will get better. Emby is good but if it was perfect it would be the only option in town.

Unfortunately I'm not an audiobook person but hopefully @Luke or someone will check things out with the stopping early thing.
