Apple TV theme text colours

I think this theme isn't meant to be used with backgrounds, correct? Because the text for episode synopsis is in black and unreadable when you have a background. It could be readable if it were in white or the text box area was darkened a bit. Are any of these tweaks possible? I can't find an option to simply disable using backgrounds or if I have, it doesn't work.
