Where is enable MPV? I thought it was in the playback section.

I have been experiencing skipping issues for months now. I experienced them before but I saw instructions on how to do this and I think it fixed the issue for much of 2020 then boom everything went to pot. I had hoped this new update would have fixed that issue, but no go. I managed to watch one show, it skipped early on but I then played through and I thought it was working but after the last few hours of trying, it just is not working. How do I enable MPV?

Okay now I see that it is on my streamer not on my computer. Dang it, I don’t understand why it does this stutter on my computer.

No, it still doesn’t work. I mean I found MPV, on or off it freezes and then emby on my computer just went to a black screen, I couldn’t even get to the menu to see how it was running. Eventually about an hour ago I got it to load and played about two minutes, it froze, I gave up and shut down my pc as I have to head out. FFMPG was running high according to my task manager. All of my files are mkv. Emby worked great for a few months last year.

What emby app are you playing with?

Are you trying to use Theater on the same computer as your Emby Server?
Are you using Theater or the web app?
In this situation they could be competing for the same resources.

I most want to play it on an Apple TV4K. I am also trying to play it in the chrome browser on a Windows 10 PC and my iPad and iPhone 11. I have issues with everything, but I figure if the problems are happening on my PC, that is probably the main cause of agitation on my other devices. I am up to date on the most recent updates on these devices.

iOS, macOS and tvOS share the same MPV player, if something plays wrong on Apple TV (using MPV player), the same happens with iPhone and Mac.

Instead of browser try:

Emby Theater - Emby

To know what is happening we need more information. Direct playback, remuxing, streaming, media information, server connection (lan or wi-fi)...

Well I decided to have another go at it, and I have been staring at this screen on my computer for a few hours. It won’t go past it. Settings button no longer works, clocking on a folder no longer works. The whole home screen no longer fully loads. My computer is working fine. I can go to other tabs and watch videos online and run other programs on my pc. I was going to share a log, but I can’t even access it. I rebooted it and tried again, it is a no go. 
 

also for some reason the preview image of my photo appears upside down on your web page when I go to post this photo despite it being correctly oriented in the original file. This is not the first time this has happened.

Amazing. Today Emby has working perfectly for a few hours of viewing on my AppleTV4K  and I haven’t changed a thing, but when I went into my computer to do a little test on metadata filing the stream to my tv froze again like other times. It seems that adding a title to my harddrive, froze the stream on my tv, but I was able to move around the app on my pc with relative ease. I am going to look into getting a log at that time to share.
