robertxgonzalez 6 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Last week I noticed that the newest Emby 6.0 then 6.1 were auto upgraded on my server. Oddly, at least for one TV series; The X-Files, Emby is not properly scanning and missing entire seasons. About two weeks ago, installed a larger WD 28TB (using RAID 1) as the main recording path for TV series and the largest of three folders for TV series (I have three RAID 1 Western digitals NAS) for this setup, similar to the one for Movies. I have noticed that at least for the X-files, Emby does not seem to scan or detect all the folders. Yet, when I move the entire TV series to a smaller NAS, it detects. I have tried removing all the other files except the .MKV files (stripping the seasons of their jpg etc files ) and moving it back to the 28TB NAS and again, will not recognize all seven seasons, sometimes only three or four, and even then not all the episodes. Similar issue when I move it to a mid size NAS in the TV series, but not on the smallest NAS. I have even copied them one season at a time and it was detecting the seasons through season 6. Then from season 7-11, nothing. I have done the SCAN METADATA FOLDER before doing the SCAN MEDIA LIBRARY. In the past when something was missed, doing a REFRESH Metadata would find things. Now not sure what to do. I have been moving back the TV season to and from the 28 to my smallest NAS but need it back on the 28 as that is where the recording is done and do not want to MERGE across my three NAS as it merges my newer battlestar galactica into a mess, so prefer it this way to keep them separate. Not sure what to do at this point, but seems like the metadata is not reading correctly. Any ideas? Luke 42085 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hi there, how are your files named and organized? can you please show screenshots of both your folders as well as what you see in Emby? thanks.
robertxgonzalez 6 Posted May 26, 2021 Author Posted May 26, 2021 See attached, One is: screen shot of Emby with both NAS 28 and NAS X3 (smaller cloud) as it appears. Not using MERGE Two is screen shot of NAS 28 folders, only six visible Three is Folders as seen on NAS 28 Four is X-files as seen on NAS 28 (and where I want them) Five are folders on NAS X3 (my third NAS), where all seasons etc are visible, but this is a small NAS now and only moved them here and back to 28 to see what the issue is. X3 can see all the seasons. As I also indicated, have a 2nd NAS has similar issues now seeing all seasons etc) Six, is what is left on X3 that I have not moved back to NAS 28. Before the upgrade, all seasons were visible on all the NAS devices. I even cut and pasted a the entire series off line, removed all the .jpg and nfo files so only the episodes are in the "The X-Files", then first copied to X3 and with a scan all seasons are found. Deleting from X3, then coping the same BARE The X-Files to NAS 28 and then did a scan only it misses seasons. My last effort was to copy one season at a time and succeeded through season 6. I even tried to copy the Season posters and did a scan to NAS 28, but it will not find them. I have not looked at other TV series, only this one as I am currently recording what I missed over the last few years since I retired and getting back to watching them. Let me know if you need anything else. Oh, using a separate SSD drive and mapped Embys logs to this external SSD and is seen as drive G on Emby. Would it help to format and just repoint Emby to the SSD? Luke 42085 Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 @robertxgonzalez have you updated to Emby Server 4.6.2 and run a library scan? Are you still having an issue with this?
robertxgonzalez 6 Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 Luke, Problem seems to be gone now. Before 4.62, just got fed up and nuked my entire computer profile starting from scratch. Thankfully, a fast system so did not take too long, but it was still missing only a handful and odd thing too, was that when I finished an episode it disappeared, had to go into the server to uncheck it (even though hide it was unchecked). I had not noticed that before the first updates. That too is fixed. Now with 4.6.2, seems issue is in the past. I am happy. Thank you for getting back. Robert 2
Luke 42085 Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Apologies for the disruption. Thanks for the feedback.
