Image priority on TV Guide

The new functionality for arranging channels does seem a little easier, although it's still quite painful trying to align hundreds of channels from an IPTV service.

How does the image priority work?  How does it pick which to use when there are multiple logos as it seems a little random to me and I'm sure it's not.

Also, when I click on a logo in the TV Guide, click More and Edit Images and then add a new image file it takes me to a blank screen with an emby logo and my login avatar and nothing else.  I can click the avatar to get back to the menus and it does save the image, but it's a lot of clicks to get back to where I was if I'm editing multiple items.

If you guide provider has images, these should load on their own. However many providers will likely only have one logo which may not look good on dark themes.   Emby has 3 logos available for channels.

Right now I believe it's only using 2 of them which are the Dark Version for light themed pages and the Light with Color which is used for dark themed pages.

To add/change a logo you can click the plus sign under the image area or hover your mouse over the image area and click the 3 dot menu

So the light with colour takes priority, but the other two are theme dependant?

What happens for you if you try and change one using the Select Image File and then pick a new logo/image?  I get a screen with a preview of the image and then when I click Upload I don't get taken back to the page I came from, but a blank screen with one one option to click into a menu.

One doesn't take priority, they are picked based on the theme you are running.

If you have one client using the default theme and one client using the Blue Radiance theme they will each use different graphics to make the logo stand out against the background.

I can change the logos on my system as I've changed out a couple.

Can you do a couple screen shots to show us what you see/get when doing this?

BTW, what I do is a google search to find the logo I want to use.  Then I'll right click on the image and "copy image address"  I then hover over the image in Emby to get the 3 dots menu which I click on.  I then use the URL option and paste in the image address.

I'm using the default theme on all of my clients, but it doesn't always appear to pick the same logo style.

If I get to this screen from the TV Guide (click on a logo in the TV Guide, click More and Edit Images and then Select Image File)

and then search for a local file and get to this screen

and then click Upload, I end up here

and the only thing I can click on is the small avatar for my user, which takes me here

I can get anywhere from here, but it should really take you back to first image from the Upload button?

That's strange.  What format is the logo?
Have you tried a different graphic?

I tried it with .svg and .png files

Thank you.  I can duplicate the problem with the SVG type file.

How did you even import svg? We do not support that as an image type.

The web interface allow you to select this type.

Will this get fixed in a future release?

It will be resolved so that you won't be able to attempt to upload types that aren't supported to be uploaded.

Surely the better solution is to make that image format work in the same way others do, given it does actually load albeit it not following the same process?

It's both. The upload dialog should not allow you to upload formats that aren't supported.
