brunovon 1 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 After the recent update, all images are now not displaying. How do I fix this? The movies play fine, but no image is visible for any data. How do I fix this? Did the metadata paths change . Help...

brunovon 1 Posted June 7, 2021 Author Posted June 7, 2021 (edited) Here is what I've done: 1. Library scans - All libraries individually several times. 2. Each TV show folder scan several times 3. added the info on the new fields in the library to 'English' in the preferred image, language, etc. 4. Actors images all disappeared. my server specs: 48gb RAM dedicated server, 4TB raid, Plus 5TB external USB. Running Windows 10. So server cannot be issue, maybe windows 10? Its seems the structure was changed after the update and the data from the old structure was not accounted for in the update. Emby used to work so great, but the least few updates have made a mess. I reinstalled PLEX, and find no issues. Do not want to use Plex because of their focus on their content and want to stick to Emby, but if this continues, I will have no choice. Everytime I think about getting lifetime license, this happens and erodes my confidence on its stability. Not disparaging the wonderful work done by the developers, but just a bit frustrated and hope you guys can help. Enclosing screenshots. Still much better than Plex Edited June 7, 2021 by brunovon

If the library type isn't correctly set it won't have the proper meta-data providers to use which can result in what you see above. Can you show us what your library setup looks like? This screen" The libraries were correct but now say 'Mixed Content'. Pls see attached screen shot. So how do I change it back and will that fix the meta data problem?
Carlo 4561 Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 It looks like you have a bunch of mixed content libs. Likely you want Imax, James Bond as movies. Music as music type and TV shows changed as well. Try following the direction in this post for fixing the types of each of these libs. Followed the steps...no good. updated the content type on all of the xml files related to each folder. However, I did notice something strange. I saw 2 'system' folders. One was system and the other was 'system old'. The old folder had a date of 5/24 around the time of the update. Should I delete that? At this point I am not sure it is worth spending the time to research this, but rather uninstall and rebuild the emby install again and add all of the media folders back. Maybe worth it, since originally, I never installed emby on the c drive but on a separate drive. Any thoughts.

That is how Emby update works, it renames the current system folder to .old and replaces it with a new system folder.

Keep in mind all we've done so far is set the libraries back to the respective type it should be. Assuming they are correct now you would want to check options for each library like the TV Shows to make sure you have the providers set as needed. Then you would need to do a full lib scan and possible a meta-data refresh on the lib which should then have you fixed up.
Smurfing 1 Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 My emby does the exact thing, cover art for most turn dark grey until i restart emby server and scan every folder over. My tv logos only show up sometimes and my music collection vanished along with my collection of audio books. I installed emby over and it fixed a few things but my live tv wont record more then a fews minutes of a show or movie. I dont want 4.6.2 i need the 4.5.4 back so i can turn off updates please, where can i download it???

Smurfing 1 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Turns out it was not emby causing the problem in fact it was nordvpn causing the problems. My friend was over today and fixed it up and i switched over to protonvpn and it works perfectly even the logos all show and records back to normal again. Not sure why nord crippled my emby but i cancelled my monthly subscription with them and switched. Hope this helps anyone else who had the same problems! 1
