thesnappysneezer 2 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I am so confused with this process. I updated the program on my Windows device then I was having issues with it connecting to the server on my apple tv. Instead of automatically connecting, it wanted me to select the server. I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling. Now when I try to use the app it doesn’t even show my server, it wants me to log in with a user name and password after I put in the in-home access port, but I have emby set to not require a password for in home use. I enter my user name and what I thought was the password and no go, I tried other passwords, no go. I go to my computer and find that I can change the password but I need my old one to do it. See I am automatically logged in on my pc. I also can auto log in on my cellphone and while I can view the password that gives me access on my cellphone, I can not use that one on my appletv for some reason. My cellphone emby saved password notes no user name is actually saved. I did get an alert that someone tried to log in with my user name and failed in emby. I am so confused. Please help.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hi, From the server Users->Profile Tab what do you have for this user here Are both of those 2 circled item NOT CHECKED as shown? Is this Windows device on your home LAN/network? Does it work in a browser on that device?

I am still wondering what my old password was though. Now that I am back in it isn’t stuttering like it was before the upgrade, I am not sure why it is playing better, but I am glad for it. Now I need to delete a bunch of music playlists that I haven’t a clue as to how they got in there. I know the update rescanned my music library. I think it might have scanned some dormant section of my hardrive I did not have the program directed to as many of these playlists don’t actually have music in them. It seems weird though, it is like these playlists are for every album I had saved to my harddrive, and I did not actually make those. I rearranged my music files a decade ago.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Glad you got the password issue figured out. You can try doing a search on disc in your music section to see if you have any .m3u files. It could be these files being read in and creating the music playlists. Let us know how you make out.
