paulduffy 2 Posted June 11, 2021 Author Posted June 11, 2021 Hi I did this and then a login screen came up. I logged in and the Emby home screen came up. I then tried to play some of the videos that would not play previously. They still would not play. Should I restart my computer?
Carlo 4561 Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Once you're logged in and see files they should play. Yes you can try a reset but if you get the same result again after doing that we need to look at logs for you to find out what's not working correctly so we can help you fix it. Let us know how you make out.
Luke 42078 Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Hi, also have you updated to Emby Server 4.6.2? @cayars can jump on teamviewer with you and do some testing.
paulduffy 2 Posted June 11, 2021 Author Posted June 11, 2021 Hi To answer Luke, yes, Emby is updated to 4.6.2. Today, we had a power outage this morning, so this evening, I restarted the computer and it did some updates to the operating system. Emby also started up. After everything was done booting up, I tried playing a couple of the videos that failed to play previously, and some that played in Emby previously. I got the same result - failed videos still would not play and the ones that worked before work now. I grabbed the log files from today and they are attached. I will reply to the PM separately. Thanks.... duffy_log_061121.zip
Luke 42078 Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 @cayars since he's on windows, just for testing purposes you could try using the ffmpeg build from 4.5.4. Just make sure to switch it back afterwards. 1
Carlo 4561 Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 @paulduffy and I got a chance to do a remote session today. What we found is that neither 4.6 nor 4.5.4 versions of ffmpeg make a difference during playback. These were DVR shows that seem to have a problem during encoding as a quick remux such as ffmpeg -i in.ts -codec copy out.mkv makes a playable session. Using the 4.6 ffmpeg and TS file it is transcoded (but lots of error) and m3u8 as well as ts segments are created and individually playable on disc. It's just the web player won't play it. I downloaded 2 sample files which do the exact same thing on my system during playback. @Luke I'll send you the files for testing.
Carlo 4561 Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Yes they do. This is one of the private PMs on this and I included a link to download the file as well.
