Rastilyn 2 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I've been using Emby for a few years now and real time monitoring has been working since i started using it. Recently it stopped working and new items will only show up in the morning or if i manually scan (and that happens quickly). I've been searching the forums the past few weeks and have been trying the inotify fixes for synology which didn't seem to help me. i have removed library's and re-added them, even tried to vacuum the DB as a long shot. I am hoping maybe I'm missing something here. My setup is Emby running on windows in a VM. Libraries are located on synology shares, i have 4 currently and Sonarr and Radarr running from Docker on the synology as well. I have tried with and without the api connect from Sonarr and Radarr as well. I also upgraded from a Synology DS414 to a DS1821+ and the file structure changed from ext4 to btrfs, I'm not sure if that could be related either. embyserver.txt
Luke 42083 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Hi there, can you please discuss an example? Thanks.
Rastilyn 2 Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 For instance this morning I downloaded 40 year old virgin, 300, and the dark knight. the first two I've had to scan in manually, the dark knight is still not imported and that was about an hour ago.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Hi, If you search your server log file do you see any mention of the dark knight file name?
Carlo 4561 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 (edited) Looking at your log I see the following folders being watched: 2021-05-25 08:14:42.248 Info LibraryMonitor: Watching directory \\192.168.1.200\Movies 2021-05-25 08:14:42.254 Info LibraryMonitor: Watching directory \\192.168.1.200\TV_Kids 2021-05-25 08:14:42.255 Info LibraryMonitor: Watching directory \\192.168.1.200\TV_Shows 2021-05-25 08:14:42.266 Info LibraryMonitor: Watching directory \\Diskstation\Movies_Kids 2021-05-25 08:14:42.273 Info LibraryMonitor: Watching directory \\Diskstation\Music Did you put the movie in one of those folders? I don't see any inotify events in your log. Edited May 25, 2021 by cayars
Rastilyn 2 Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 Yes, it is in \\192.168.1.200\Movies. I also recently remove the Music folder because it was recently added and thought maybe there was to much going on. Current path for that movie is \\192.168.1.200\movies\The Dark Knight Rises (2012)\The Dark Knight Rises (2012) [Bluray-1080p].mkv
Carlo 4561 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 What is 192.168.1.200? Is that a synology? I don't see any messages in the log from it to tell Emby to rescan any folder.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I'm still new to Synology so forgive me a bit but I don't see any notifications in the log. Did you ever run Emby on the Synology or only in a VM/PC?
Rastilyn 2 Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 I have only run emby on windows, in the same vm since I started so the install is about 4 years old at this point. This is very weird, I BELIEVE the issues started around the same time I moved to a newer model synology but rtm worked great on my previous model ds414.
Luke 42083 Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 @Rastilyn are you still having an issue with this?
Rastilyn 2 Posted June 9, 2021 Author Posted June 9, 2021 I never got real time monitoring working. I just set the library scan to kick off every 15 minutes.
Luke 42083 Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Have you taken a look at the Synology topics regarding INotify?
