MBSki 1114 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 (edited) Isn't the back button supposed to remember the last page it was on? For example, in the music library, if I'm in the Album view and click one of the albums, after viewing the album and click back it should go back to the Album view that I started in. It doesn't though. It refreshes and goes back to my default landing page which is Album Artists. Can this be fixed? Edit: I should say that it doesn't ALWAYS go back to the previous page. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Edited May 24, 2021 by mbarylski
Carlo 4561 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Hi, I'm not able to reproduce this in 4.6.0.52. What server version are you using? Is this using the web app? Are we talking about the Emby back button or the browser back button?

Yes, sorry, using the web app. It's intermittent and I haven't figured the exact steps to reproduce it, but I'll see if I can pin something down. 18 minutes ago, cayars said: Are we talking about the Emby back button or the browser back button? Emby back button.
MBSki 1114 Posted May 24, 2021 Author Posted May 24, 2021 @cayars Ok, I just reproduced it. It happened when I was on the album page and did a scan library, then refresh metadata. After the metadata refresh ended, I refreshed the page twice to see if the new album art I added was there. When I used the back button, it jumped back to my default tab rather than the album view.
MBSki 1114 Posted May 24, 2021 Author Posted May 24, 2021 @cayars And, when refreshing the browser on the Album page, it jumps back to the default tab. Seems to have something to do with refresh.

I can reproduce this as well but would kind of expect this behavior in that situation however.

Carlo 4561 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 What is exactly is the last "page"? Is it the refresh page, the library scan? Is it the same page you just refreshed? So likely since it can access the page it goes to the default or closest match of that section. 1
Carlo 4561 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 BTW, I'm not saying this can't be "fixed". I'm just saying I can see why this might happen. @Luke Can you take a look at this? 1

So if you go back, it just goes to the last item in the queue. click back again and it goes to the 2nd to last item in the queue. So, as an example. Looking at the screen shots below. If I'm on the fourth page and i click back it goes to the third page. If I click back again it goes to the second page. A refresh just stays on the page your already on. First page Second page Third Page Fourth Page
Carlo 4561 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Right but if you bring up a Refresh Meta-Data or a Library Scan page is that part of the "Queue"? Not having programmed this I don't know the answer to that question, but if so, that's why I said I can understand why this would happen. We need to hear back from Luke on this as he is the person who would know how it works.

There is no refresh MetaData or Library scan page. It's just an action. The actual pages should still all be maintained in the queue. 7 minutes ago, cayars said: We need to hear back from Luke on this as he is the person who would know how it works. Agreed
