Music album view is missing letter navigation

After the update, I no longer see the letter navigation bar when viewing albums.  Can you please fix?

How are they sorted?

By album artist, is that why navigation doesn't show up? Seems like something that should still be there when sorted by Album Artist.

But how would that work?  You are looking at albums.  When you hit "d" where would you expect it to go?

Anyway, yes, that is the reason. The alpha list only shows when sorted by the titles of the items you are actually looking at.

Hey Guys -

** Never Mind! -- I see... If I change the sort to anything other than Title on the Albums view - the right hand letter navigation goes away. So.. Nothing changed!

I am still on 4.5.4.0 - and the right hand letter navigation in my Music folder shows up when the view is Albums, Album Artist, or Artists. (I don't have any Playlists - so don't know if it should be there or not.) So, it does seem like something changed...

@Thomas64 I think it might disappear if you change the sort on Album view to sort by Album Artist instead of title.

@ebr The way it would work is to just navigate by whatever the sort term is. Frankly you could do that on any of the sort items. If it's a date, change to a date in navigation. If it's a number, change to a number.

i would be in support of @mbarylski view on this one for when albums are sorted by album artist. pretty sure this view and navigation was available in WMC.

Yea, I'm not sold on date/number navigation either. Really just wanted to make the point that it could be done.

If I click the Album Artists view in version 4.5.4.0 - it does provide the letter navigation for Album Artists, which have been alphabetically sorted by that view.

It is just not there if you change the "Sort by" to anything other than "Title" on the Albums, Album Artists, or Artists views.

Does that not work in the newest version, or is that not what you guys are talking about?

It does work in the new version, but I was pointing out that the letters disappear when sorting by album artist. I think the letters should still be there when sorting by album artist.
