tibbi64 0 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 I was trying to help my Mom & Aunt connect to my server remotely. For some reason it will not let them connect. I think the port is locked. Anyway I was trying to connect with the pin and it says my user name was invalid or I needed to sign up. I reset the password and the e-mail and/or user name was not working. How do I check that my account is not locked or something. The password works to log into this site but not the log in to the server. This server is so frustrating to connect remotely. Thanks, if an admin can help me. Not sure where else to e-mail or post. Thanks,
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 You need to ensure that your server is directly accessible from outside your network; Connect only points the user at your server - it doesn't transfer any data. Check out the steps in the Connectivity article: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity For more detail, check out the Remote Setup article: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup If those don't enable you to fix it, ask here again. pwhodges 2012 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Is it working for you? Have you checked direct access (i.e. not using Connect)? Have you checked using http://canyouseeme.org ? If this fails, there may be some reason your IP address has changed, or (worst case) your ISP might have introduced cgNAT, which is a whole can of worms. Paul
tibbi64 0 Posted May 22, 2021 Author Posted May 22, 2021 I have checked canyouseeme.org. And I cannot see it.
tibbi64 0 Posted May 22, 2021 Author Posted May 22, 2021 Direct access? You mean on the local network? If so that works.

If canyouseeme.org doesn't connect to your server then you have a connectivity issue. Is the IP shown at canyouseeme.org the same as what's shown on your dashboard? Is the server IP the same as what you have port forwarded to? Take a look at the bottom section of this page for other things to check: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup Let us know if anything there helped or not.
