GregMo 24 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Does Emby no longer ignore folders that begin with a period?
GregMo 24 Posted May 21, 2021 Author Posted May 21, 2021 Interestingly enough, it alpha sorts on the period too...
Carlo 4561 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 No it doesn't but if you want to hide a folder you can place an ".ignore" file in the folder. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159118-excluding-files-folders I think that's the shortest KB article.
GregMo 24 Posted May 21, 2021 Author Posted May 21, 2021 Wonderful. All the .extras folders that have been excluded this way will now have to be corrected. Sigh
Luke 42078 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 I apologize but there are actually some real shows and movies whose name start with a dot so we had to remove this. We have other ways to hide content though. 1
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I have a large photo library with loads of subfolders. I also use the Photo Album software JAlbum using the same source files. JAlbum puts a .jalbum folder in every single folder - and I can't go putting .ignore files in them all, because JAlbum would then get upset. Would it be possible to have a library option to ignore folders starting with a dot, or even a special exception for .jalbum folders? Paul
