With the new playlist features there's an oops and a flaw.  The oops is over old deleted playlists.  Apparently they were still hanging around somewhere and with the new update they're all back.  No biggie, just delete them again (hoping they don't come back again).

The flaw, however, playlists for media the user doesn't have access to.  Before the update if a playlist only contained title that the user didn't have access to, that user didn't see the playlist.  This was helpful in keeping kid content and adult content separate.  With the update, however, all users can see all playlists.

While on playlists, one thing that I think would help TONS is if we could click a link for a popup of the episode description, or a quick access button to click through to the info page on the playlist item.

Hi, Playlists weren't upgraded in any way in this release.

Playlists are global so all users see them.  However the individual media items in the playlist are controlled by access levels and parental restrictions.

Ummm, they now have a radio button they didn't have 2 days ago, not to mention the other changes in behavior I mentioned.  How did that happen without any upgrades?

Radio button? We don't have any radio buttons in the entire web interface.

Are you sure you're talking about playlists?

These might not be HTML encoded radio buttons, and they may function more like checkboxes than radio buttons, but these are new as of 2 days ago.

OK, yes a component was updated to work for the Live TV Channel list management which is also used by playlists.
When you click any of those you are multi-selecting items. You should get a big bar up top that shows the number selected and you will have a 3 dot menu you can apply to all selected items.

What is your question about this?

I get this.  I don't have an issue with it, just pointing out that there has indeed been changes to playlists.

The main problem is that playlists are now viewable even when you don't have access to any of the content in that playlist.  This didn't used to be the case until the update that happened at some over the last 48 hours.

The playlist items are correctly filtered by access, right?

Just tested this.  The issue is now if all media items that make up the playlist are filtered out the playlist still shows.  So you have an empty playlist that previously would not be shown.

Its even worse for me. I have some "adult" playlists that appear now for users with no content but the preview image is showing which shows images of the content. Luckly it was only my user that had access to the playlist libray, but this is really not ideal. Right now I have the playlist library disabled for all users except the one with "adult" access or risk it getting embarrassing.

Revamping playlist permissions is on our to do list for the near future.

So, just tried clicking 3 titles and then chose from the top green bar to remove from playlist and only one of the three are deleted.

Hi, it seems to be working just fine in my testing. Let's look at an example:

Thanks.

Not sure if this plays a part in my results, but the 3 items I selected to delete were all the same title.  I wouldn't think that would play a part because I would assume that it deleted the items by playlistitemid instead of the itemid of the individual title.

OK I can reproduce that, thanks.
