Perfectonline 4 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 I want to use live tv without turning on transcoding. Yes, I have a url for watching live tv, but I don't want transcoding to work, what do I need to do?
mastrmind11 722 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 disable transcoding for the user in the admin page.
Perfectonline 4 Posted May 21, 2021 Author Posted May 21, 2021 If transcoding is off, Live TV will not turn on. So I posted a question on the forum.
Carlo 4561 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Keep in mind Emby only uses transcoding when it has to because the client can't play the stream as is. What is your source for Live TV? What clients are you trying to use?

Carlo 4561 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Yes some clients can playback streams direct but depends on the source, clients used and possibly the client options set. That's exactly where I was going with the 2 questions I asked.

Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 HI, try turning transcoding on. Then in the video player explore the stats feature to learn why it is transcoding. What does it say?

I only have to turn on transcoding. Video to go up I really shouldn't have to open it. Because it makes the movie transcoding as well
Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 If you try what I'm suggesting you'll be able to learn why it is transcoding.

But if I put 1 link in iptv plug-in, the video will be playable without turning on the transcoding. But I have to put links one by one, which is slower than url m3u.
