pomm 1 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 I am trying to organise a 4-season show. All the files are named with SxxExx as required, but all the episodes from every season appear under Season 1. Even the metadata for every episode in S02 to S04 is specified correctly within Emby, e.g.: I'm wondering whether it's something to do with my Library config. Here's my Library config for the Season/Series section: I've tried moving TheMovieDB to the top of the priority list for Series and Episode metedata but the episodes all still appear as a single season. I'm wondering whether the problem is with the Season metadata from TheMovieDB which I'm unable to change as it's the only option, but their website does show it as four seasons. Help would be appreciated greatly. Also, what is the difference between Season Metadata and Series Metadata? Thanks in advance

Emby TV Naming : Emby Edited May 19, 2021 by vdatanet 1
pomm 1 Posted May 19, 2021 Author Posted May 19, 2021 I've fixed it. I disabled TheMovieDB from [Season metadata downloaders] and rescanned the directory. That resulted in four seasons being detected but with no artwork. Then I used [Identify] to find the show and within a few seconds the entire four seasons was presented neatly with full artwork and thumbnails. I will leave TheMovieDB unticked. Fyi, the folder structure is: /Emby/Show Name/Sxx/ShowName.SxxExx.mkv ...where /Sxx/ is the four folders containing files for individual seasons (S01 to S04)
Carlo 4561 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Is this a TV Library or a Mixed library? You naming convention looks problematic to me.
Luke 42083 Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Hi there, can you please go over a specific example? Thanks.

It should be "Season xx." While any minor deviation from the "normal" folder structure might work it is not really a set thing. The basic structure should be something like: Quote TV Shows <- The TV library points here _______ShowName (year) ____________Season 01 __________________ShowName (year) - s01e01 - Optional Name.ext __________________ShowName (year) - s01e02 - Optional Name.ext __________________and so on for the shows in season 01 ____________Season 02 <- just like Season 01 ____________Season 03 <- and so on for each season ____________Season 00 <- or “Specials” __________________ShowName (year) - s00e01 - Optional name __________________ShowName (year) - s00e02 - Optional name __________________and so on for each special Note 1: the eXX part of the specials must match EXACTLY what is found in TheTVDB Note 2: The (year) may be omitted for shows that do not have more than one occurrence throughout the years. There are many other structures and naming systems that work but this is the one I use and it just works. For a mass rename I use FileBot with this format string {n.replaceTrailingBrackets()} - {s00e00.lower()} - {t} 2 1

pomm 1 Posted May 19, 2021 Author Posted May 19, 2021 Excellent, thank you everyone!! Renaming the season folders from 'Sxx' to 'Season xx' has worked perfectly. I've also renamed all my other TV series with Sxx style subfolders, even though they were displaying their seasons correctly in Emby; better to be safe than sorry. Thanks again 1
