Instead of depending on a specific controller to call up the decal button, can we have some sort of GUI button or a least of the most recent channels we can pull up from the playback menu?

Hi.  You mean the "previous channel" button?  If you sort your guide by last played you can bring up the mini guide and go to the previous channel in just a couple clicks.  The problem with an OSD button for this is that it takes up space and you also have to navigate to it - which could take more clicks than just changing the channel.

I don't like how that works. I want to say my favourites in the proper listing. Changing that will just confuse matters when searching for a channel at later times since it's not alphabetical.

but channels marked as favourite are always at the top (if the option is enabled) regardless of last played status

If we can define the number of last played channels down to 1 and up to 10 perhaps, then this would work.

That is assuming it doesn't mess with favourites, which is how I sort all my channels. This not only sorts based off the channels I want, but also shows up alphabetically.

If anything, I'd want a total number of 5 last previous played channels.
