johnsonb 12 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 I have a movie library that in the display of movies is missing about 30 titles. They were all entered by hand or through Auto Organize, so I know all of them were successfully added. Some missing show up and then. I can search, find and play them, they are just not in the movie list. I tried Scan Library Files with no luck. Thanks, for any help. Bj
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Are these in a folder which is part of more than one library? Paul
johnsonb 12 Posted May 10, 2021 Author Posted May 10, 2021 Shoot, I left out the important stuff..... the movies are in one folder in a library of consisting of one folder. Bj
vdatanet 1617 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 You have to follow the naming conventions: Emby Movie Naming : Emby 1
Luke 42080 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Hi there, yes please go over an example in detail. Thanks.
johnsonb 12 Posted May 10, 2021 Author Posted May 10, 2021 Do not judge me on the movie - it's my wife's, yet oddly the first one I thought of..... \Media\Movies\10 Things I Hate About You (1999)\10 Things I Hate About You (1999).mp4 (plus ancillary files, srt, logo etc and so on) If I select it from the Folders listing it pops up in the Continue Watching list. I doubt this is it, however I can move it to \Movies instead of \Media\Movies if needed. Bj
Guest Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 If your Movies Library is at Movies\ and you have everything in there then it should show up all over not just in your folders.. You may want to look through your movies and see if there any duplicates.. Look at hose in EDIT METADTA and look at the top to see if the identification matches up.. Sometimes movies mis-identify and get lost.. If it is showing up under Folders view then I would say it is likely.. and may make a little work to hunt it down.. Look at the movies and make sure you recognize each and the ID matches up as well... refining your metadata in the files, file naming schema ( which looked fine ) .. can all help in this area.. Nobody is judging you on your media BTW with as much as has been seen..

Something has to balance out the likes of "It's a Wonderful life," "A Clockwork Orange," "Lawrence of Arabia," "Casablanca" and other highly rated movies. A balanced library must include all qualities and, sometimes, bad=good or great. 1
Guest Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Cult Classics aren't shameful.. They are collectors items.. LOL.. Sometimes they look better in Collection or on display..

I can see it on to continue watch list only after selecting it in folders. Here is a twist. From a TV on the same network (Roku built in using stable or beta Emby client) I can see the 10 things movie on the Movies List like it should be. Using the same login from a Linux box on the same network I cannot see the movie on the Movie list. And yes, I drink however not at the moment. weird Bj Edited May 11, 2021 by johnsonb was not clear
ebr 16185 Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Hi. Can you show us exactly where you are not seeing this? Also, please check the filters to be sure you haven't filtered whatever list you are looking at. Thanks.
johnsonb 12 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Good idea on the filters. That was not it however a good idea. I decided to just set it up again and see what I get. thanks 1
johnsonb 12 Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 (edited) Well, sir. I copied all the movies (362 folders) to a temp directory. I set Auto-Organize to process the files in the new temp directory figuring that the movies that are missing would show up in red as failing to import. When Auto-Organize was finished it showed 293 green and 16 red. Is there a different way to at least find out what the 60+ missing movies are? I am grateful for the 3 extra it did find. I deleted one missing movie from the active library and copied it back. A quick scan found it which make me wonder why it missed it all along. As crazy as it is I see 360 movies logging in from two different Roku systems (one box on built-in). It only when I look at it locally I see far fewer movies. There are no filters set. Locally if I sort by data added I see 360 movies. If I go back to title I see 294?? thanks, Bj Edited May 13, 2021 by johnsonb
Carlo 4561 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Do you by any chance have "duplicate" movies like Top Gun (1986).mkv and Top Gun (1986).mp4? If so that's ONE title which could be what you're seeing.

I personally consider it one of the best Shakespeare adaptations (The Taming of the Shrew) ever. 1
