Playing causes USB drive disconnect!

I have a very strange problem that I don't believe posting logs would help.

First I want to post a general question. When playing media from my Emby server, sometimes it causes my USB3 SSD drive that has the media on it to disconnect. This is all on a local Windows 10.

Playing from iOS or KODI causes USB disconnects. Any idea? Has this happened to anyone before?

First thing I would do is try and update any USB related drivers.

Second thing to do is check for a firmware upgrade on the USB HDD.

Yes I have done all that. I have gone through general USB disconnects in Windows 10. I have now pinpointed it that it is specifically during playing from Emby Server that it happens.

One thing more is that I'm going to setup a clean library from zero. My library is from years ago and it has caused some problems in the past.

I'd try a few tests and see if you can copy media off the the drive to a main drive and also try to copy it from the USB to the USB drive and see if you get any disconnects.

Do you have anything else connected to the USB port?

Yes all my life. Everything connected to any USB3 disconnects. It causes a deep motherboard event that disconnects all USB ports.

That begs another test.  Disconnect all USB devices except the drive itself and see if the problem goes away or not.

Is the server on an x470 or x570 amd board?  If so, update the bios as AMD thinks they have finally figured this out.

If it's not on an AMD system, then yes, try disconnecting everything but the drive itself.
