do you know when you open the application? Below at the bottom there is the home button, the search button, and then there is the download button which cannot be removed in any way, then there are two other icons which are customized depending on the server library.

In this image there are only the first three icons to show you that the download icon cannot actually be removed in any way, from settings there should be a way to remove it since for example I wouldn't want to leave it active and since no one can download it doesn't have sense that it actually stays there

That's not an icon to download. That's an icon to view existing downloads in the app.

Exactly, sorry if I didn't explain myself well, whatever this icon is, I think it's useless for those who can't download anything, do you agree with me? Also because one then asks how can I download the stuff if there is a download button? It would therefore be smart to give the option to remove it within the application or in any case when the administrator goes to the users can remove that download button. The important thing is that in one way or another we can remove that button which I actually believe that for those who cannot download anything there is no point in staying there thank you very much

Well they could have have permission before, have previous downloads, and then you restrict the feature later. They should still be able to see content that was already downloaded.

But outside of that yes I agree, if they don't have permission to download, and they don't have any existing downloads, then there's no need to see the tab.

Two months have passed and I still haven't seen any updates on the App Store. Is there any news on this?

HI, Emby for Windows has been getting updated quite frequently. At least once per week.

I'm eagerly awaiting the App Store update, hoping to finally remove the download icon. On my server, I don't want to allow content downloads, rendering the download icon entirely unnecessary. It would be fantastic if my users had the option to remove it through a dedicated setting.

Additionally, I'd like Emby's tags to function more accurately. Currently, if a user is only allowed to view episode 2 of a TV series, it's odd that the series only appears on the home screen and disappears when viewing all TV series. This behavior isn't entirely sensible; the episode should be visible even when browsing all TV series.

Hi, it's been another two months, I'm really looking forward to this feature of removing the download for my users, and personally it bothers me too because it takes up a part of my display that I never use, this is just a reminder to hope this change arrives as soon as possible

Given that not all users will have the download removed, I would not recommend removing the download icon. I would recommend an error message. Moves the cheese less.

It would be convenient simply that the non-server administrator can move as in reality it is already possible to order the content and if the download puts it maybe at the end, it no longer appears at least on the home screen, already this could be a good solution, because having a Dowland button when the user can't download anything is really annoying, instead in this case you have to click the entire menu so it would be more hidden than seeing it immediately by Mom as soon as you open the app

Honestly, he's a one man show. He gets to stuff when he does. If you don't like the product, you can always switch to something else. I requested an item, and even provided a solution but because it ONLY AFFECTED ME, he didn't include it. Not right or wrong. But it turned out that later revisions let me have the issue I wanted fixed, simply by adjusting my screen size. You are not the only one requesting things. You will not be the last. But rest assured, if he's not gonna ever do it, he will say so. No need to get worked up about a positive response that doesn't have a definitive schedule.

hi Luca, could you tell me the waiting time for this request? Since it's been two years since my request, and I'm also a user who has the premiere license, so I supported you, I hope you haven't abandoned or forgotten... I care a lot about it and every now and then I'm always here to remind you, I can't do more than this thanks for your attention, simply the download button should be disabled from the server so that it is not seen by anyone, As I was saying, I find it very annoying to have this button on every device, since on my server no one can download anything.

Can you please also add "clear pending download list" without clearing the "currently downloaded" items?

I have a server where I started a download of a few entries, but then realized, I didn't need all of the items. I have no way to stop this lots of global hops, while I only need it for one login.

It would be nice to be able to cancel downloads at different levels but at a minimum, being able to clear all pending would be enough to get started.

I kindly ask you, if you can give priority to remove the download button. It's been more than a year sind I made this request. I hope the idea of seriously considering this request has not been abandoned.. as I said, since I blocked the download to users it is useless to leave that button, so there should be setting the possibility of removing it thanks again for your attention
