MBSki 1114 Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 My Emby media folder size used to be relatively manageable. I noticed my drive filling up today though, and see that the Emby folder is twice what it was just a few days ago. This is on stable. I don't know what happened, but how can I clean it up? Is there a way to clean out the cache, metadata, or anything else that might be filling up my drive?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 What are you calling manageable? My people folder alone is 62GB. But the first place I would look is Transcode-temp folder. Have you identified a folder using a lot of space?

Yea, manageable to me for EVERYTHING is 60 GB. 19 minutes ago, Happy2Play said: But the first place I would look is Transcode-temp folder. Have you identified a folder using a lot of space? Ah, yes, the Transcode-temp folder is 75 GB! I recorded 1 hour of the Kentucky Derby yesterday and it appears to have saved a 75 GB file in the Transcode-temp folder. Why is that file still there? Can I delete everything in that folder?

Someone else will have to comment as I don't do LiveTV/Recording. But if streams are not stopped correctly they could get abandoned in Transcode folder until next server restart. A restart is suppose to clean out the folder, now if that is not happening it would suggest something is holding that folder besides Emby. But in general it is safe to Empty that folder. MBSki 1114 Posted May 3, 2021 Author Posted May 3, 2021 A server restart cleared it. @Luke Something besides a server restart should really clear the transcoding-temp folder. If not, the hard drive can fill up and shut down the server. Is this something that's being looked at in the new Live TV work?
